One of the questions that is often asked in the vroute.info support forums is how do you use the FlightSim Flightplans that have been generated by vroute.info. This is a short tutorial that should hopefully assist you in making best use of vroute.info and the Flightplanning tools it provides.
First things first, please read the FAQ: How to export flight plan to FS2004 tutorial HERE This is essential reading before moving on with the next steps. Once you have saved your Flightplan in line with that FAQ, you're not ready to get up and flying. Okay, I've done this in FS2004 so you can see. I'm basing it on a flight in an Virgin Blue Embraer E170 from Sydney, Australia (YSSY) to Canberra, Australia (YSCB). The same rules apply everywhere. STEP 1. SELECT THE AIRCRAFT Select the aircraft you wish to fly from Aircraft Drop Down Menu STEP 2. OPEN THE FLIGHT PLANNER Open the Flight Planner and click on LOAD.
STEP 3. FIND YOUR FLIGHT PLAN Scroll to find the Flight Plan you want to fly from the vroute.info saved files, highlight and click OK - (Note: I strip my flightplans down to just the ICAO codes, yours might look different)
STEP 4. CONFIRM YOUR FLIGHTPLAN Confirm in the Flight Planner that you have chosen the correct flightplan and the departure and destination locations are correct. If so, click OK.
STEP 5. MOVE YOUR AIRCRAFT TO DEPARTURE AIRPORT You will now be presented with an options box to move your aicraft to the departure airport listed on the flight plan
CLICK YES! STEP 6. CHOOSING THE SELECTED LOCATION Before you click OK to start your flight, change the Selected Location:
STEP 7. CHOOSE YOUR STARTING POSITION Before you begin your flight, you will need to choose your Runway/Starting Position. This is especially important on VATSIM so that you don't interfere with other online traffic or controllers. Always start on a gate!
You can see here I'm starting on Gate B32. Now click OK STEP 8. GO FLYING! Now simply click on Fly Now and go flying! |
